Vivienne Crawshaw KC specialises solely in family law with a particular focus on relationship property/trust matters and cases involving children. She was admitted to the Bar in 1988.
She is a member of the Lawyer for Child panel. Vivienne has presented papers to the International Bar Association Conference, the NZ Family Law Conference and to members of the NZ Law Society throughout the country. She appears as counsel in relationship property and children's cases at family court and appellate level.
Vivienne was appointed as Queens Counsel in November 2018 (now Kings Counsel).

Vivienne has been in practice for over 30 years, the past 20 of which she has focused primarily on family law. She appears as counsel at all levels of the New Zealand court system, both at first instance and on appeal, invluding the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. Vivienne has presented to ADLS, NZLS, to the Institute of Judicial Studies, for Lexis Nexis, and IBA Conferences. She has co-presented three NZLS travelling roadshows, the first one on without notice applications in 2004, the second in 2012 on relationship property agreements and the third in 2021 on Trusts and the Property (Relationships) Act 1976. Vivienne wrote the family law column in the New Zealand Herald for two years and in 2006 published a book on family law. Vivienne became a partner at Gubbs Lawyers, Auckland in 2003. She has been a barrister sole since 2008, and took Silk in 2018.
